PRP

PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) treatment involves using a patient's own blood to promote cellular healing.

It involves collecting a small amount of blood from your arm which is then placed in a centrifuge which separates platelets from other blood cells. The plasma-rich-platelets are then injected into the affected area. PRP contains growth factors to help our bodies heal and regenerate.

The treatment consists of a course of three to six injection treatments  given 4 weeks apart. Following this a booster treatment can be given every 6 months to maintain the regeneration.

We can use this in combination with Polynucleotides and / or Mesoline treatments to get optimal results

Typical hair treatment regime at The Dr Westwood Clinic

Step 1: A small amount of blood will be collected from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.

Step 2: The blood is then placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds which allows the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to separate from the other blood cells.

Step 3: We prepare a specific cocktail of ingredients that are tailored to your type of hair loss

Step 4: Your earlier blood sample is then taken out of the centrifuge and the PRP is extracted

Step 5: Your PRP is then added to our cocktail of ingredients

Step 6: The ingredients are then injected into the scalp

Step 7: Towards the end of the treatment, the last of the cocktail may be applied using microneedling for extra stimulation
